Training
The greenHouse provides a functional training program where athletes train body movements utilized in the competitive arena, rather then training specific body parts. The program is unconventional, adaptive and continuously evolving to meet the needs of the athletes involved. Most importantly, the program is fun, keeping alive the child-like spirit that drives athletes to compete in the games they love.
Flexibility
Flexibility is the range of motion of a joint or a series of joints. Increased flexibility prevents injury and improves overall athletic performance. Flexibility training incorporates static and ballistic stretching.Stability
Developing the muscles that are the foundation for all the body's movements also prevents injury and increases overall athletics performance. Stability training targets core muscles as well as supporting muscles primarily through balance activities.
Strength
Agility
Agility is the ability to change the body's direction efficiently. Agility is a combination of balance, coordination, speed, and strength.Speed
The ability to perform high frequency movements and to increase the rate of motion is achieved through speed training. Speed training can incorporate both aerobic and anaerobic body systems. Speed training improves explosive movement and acceleration .Endurance
At the foundation of endurance activities is aerobic endurance, which is the body's ability to use oxygen efficiently. Endurance capacity relates to how long someone can exercise until physical or mental exhaustion causes the person to stop the exercise.
Internal Strength
The human body and the human mind are inseparable. Therefore, focusing the mind, believing in the self and one's abilities, allows individuals to overcome mental resistance. Attitude, outlook, visualization and belief help expand the mind, while in turn expands the power of the body. Internal strength is the blood, guts, heart and soul of an athlete. All greenHouse photography provided by Alex Rivera.
